Kateryna Artyushkova is a Senior Staff Scientist at Physical Electronics. Her research focuses on developing applications and methodologies for surface analysis focusing on X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. She has received an M.A. Degree with Honors in chemistry from the National Technical University of Ukraine, Kyiv in 1995. She obtained her Ph.D. in chemistry from Kent State University in December of 2001 under the supervision of Julia E. Fulghum. She was a Research Associate Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of New Mexico and Associate Director for Center for Microengineered Materials until 2018.

She has more than 20 years of experience with all aspects of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, including instrumentation, experimental design for optimizing time and information content, and data analysis. She has co-authored 200+ peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters.

She is a short course instructor of AVS, chair-elect of Minnesota Chapter AVS, co-chair of Chapters of AVS, past chair of Applied Surface Science Division of AVS and Past Chair of NMAVS chapter. She is a North American Editor of Surface and Interface Analysis Journal.
