Quantum Science and Technology Mini-Symposium Student Awards
In celebration of the UNESCO International Year of Quantum, the Quantum Science and Technology (QS) Mini-Symposium is excited to announce the QS mini-symposium Student Awards. This initiative is designed to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions by students in the field of quantum science and technology. The QS program spans a broad spectrum of cutting-edge topics from material sciences and quantum technology to innovative qubit modalities for computing and sensing.
Award Categories:
- Best Oral Presentation: Awarded to the students who deliver the most compelling and clearly articulated talk.
- Best Poster Presentation: Awarded to the student who delivers the most informative and visually engaging poster presentation.
Eligibility:
- Participants must be enrolled as full-time students and must be the presenter of an accepted abstract in the QS Mini-Symposium.
- Participants are invited from diverse fields, including but not limited to:
- Materials and Surface Engineering for Quantum Devices
- Innovations in Qubit Modalities
- Advances in Quantum Sensing and Metrology
- Integration Challenges in Quantum Systems and Devices
- Quantum Education and User Facilities
- Interdisciplinary Quantum Applications
How to apply:
Submit an abstract to the QS Mini-Symposium at AVS 71 and be sure to indicate that you are a student in your submission.
Judging Criteria:
- The selection committee will review submissions and evaluate them based on clarity, scientific merit, and the relevance of the work to the advancement of quantum science and technology. Finalists will be determined based upon abstract review and your presentation at the meeting will be judged by the QS Committee.
Prizes:
- First Prize: $250
- Second Prize: $150
- Third Prize: $100
- Winners will also receive a certificate of recognition.
Sponsorship and Acknowledgments:
- We gratefully acknowledge the support from AVS Publications and our AVS Quantum Science journal for sponsoring these awards and supporting the young scientists who are shaping the future of quantum technologies.
Deadline for Abstract Submission:
We look forward to celebrating the innovative work of our student researchers. Join us to explore groundbreaking research and gain recognition for your contributions to the quantum science community at the AVS 71 International Symposium.
