JUNJIE ZHAO is an Assistant Professor at Zhejiang University. Junjie received a B.Eng. in chemical engineering and a B.A. in english from Zhejiang University in 2011. He received a Ph.D. degree from North Carolina State University in 2016 advised by Gregory Parsons. He worked as a postdoctoral associate in Karen Gleason’s group at Massachusetts Institute of Technology before joining the faculty at Zhejiang University in 2018. His research group focuses on novel synthesis and patterning methods for polymer and metal-organic framework thin films.

Junjie has published over 40 papers in high-impact journals including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and Chem. Mater. His recent work has been highlighted in the ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces Early Career Forum.

Junjie has been an active member of AVS since 2012, and regularly attends AVS annual meetings. He volunteered as a social media reporter during the AVS 59th and 60th International Symposium & Exhibition and has been actively involved in session planning and abstract rating for AVS annual meetings as a member of the TFD program committee/executive committee. Junjie is a recipient of the AVS TFD Paul H. Holloway Young Investigator Award in 2023.
