JULIA SCHERSCHLIGT works at the National Institute of Standards and Technology where she is the leader of the Fundamental Thermodynamics Group, which is responsible for the realization and dissemination of the Pascal. She oversees a diverse suite of projects in vacuum technology, from service-oriented gauge and device calibrations to research projects in material characterization, vacuum preparation, and cutting-edge metrology. Her research interests are in the preparation and measurement of UHV and XHV, particularly atom-based methods for vacuum metrology.

Dr. Scherschligt is the chair of the committee concerned with pressure metrology at the BIPM (International Bureau of Weights and Measures), the Consultative Committee for Mass – Working Group for Pressure and Vacuum. She is active in the AVS Vacuum Technology Division (VTD) and an AVS fellow.
