STEPHANIE LAW is an Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Physics at Penn State University. She is an AVS Fellow and is the Associate Director of the Two-Dimensional Crystal Consortium. Stephanie received her B. S. in Physics from Iowa State University and her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She was a faculty member in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware for eight years before moving to Penn State in 2023. Her research interests center on the molecular beam epitaxy synthesis of compound semiconductors and two-dimensional materials and heterostructures for applications in infrared and terahertz optics.

Stephanie has won a variety of awards including the AVS Peter Mark Memorial Award, the North American MBE Young Investigator Award, the International Conference on MBE Young Investigator Award, and the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.

Stephanie has been the Program Chair for the AVS International Symposium and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology. She has also served as the Program Chair for the North American MBE Conference and the International Conference on MBE. These activities underscore her dedication to serving her field and her longstanding involvement in AVS.
