The technical structure of AVS is organized as a matrix. Members can participate in one or more Divisions or Technical Groups, each of which is focused around a major topical area. Members may also participate in Chapters and Student Chapters, which are regional organizations that focus on local area needs.


Prairie - Symposia & Exhibitions


The 2024 AVS Prairie Chapter Symposium will be held in the Illinois Materials Research Laboratory of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign Champaign on Thursday September 5. We will have four outstanding plenary presentations covering a broad range of topics of general interest to the AVS community, as well as a poster session with cash prizes and a scientific equipment exhibit.

•    $30 for students and postdocs; $70 for everyone else.
•    Lunch and refreshments during breaks are included in the fee.
•    Registrations received after August 23 will be subject to a $10 late fee.

Cash awards ($1,000 total) will be given to the top three student posters presented at the meeting.
