The technical structure of AVS is organized as a matrix. Members can participate in one or more Divisions or Technical Groups, each of which is focused around a major topical area. Members may also participate in Chapters and Student Chapters, which are regional organizations that focus on local area needs.


Electronic Materials & Photonics - Awards

 

The Electronic Materials and Photonics Division recognizes emerging and accomplished scientists whose innovative work demonstrates strong potential in Materials, Interfaces, Processing, and Devices. The awards are recognized annually at the International Symposium: professional award, student travel award, the student poster/presentation award, and the postdoc travel award.

Student Travel Award

Student Travel Award is given annually to graduate and undergraduate students who have an accepted abstract AND will be presenting in an EMPD session at the International Symposium.

Student Poster/Presentation Award

Student Poster/Presentation Award is given at the annual AVS International Symposium and Exhibition. All abstracts, both poster and oral, submitted to an EMPD session will be automatically considered.
