Housing & Travel

AVS is pleased to offer special rates at two downtown Columbus hotels Hilton Columbus Downtown (Headquarters) and Crowne Plaza Columbus Downtown.

Keep in mind that reserving a room in this convention block helps AVS meet its financial commitments to the host city and retain lower registration fees as well as a high quality conference with the features and services you are accustomed too. Reservations open July 6, 2019 and close September 26, 2019.

Due to limited space we recommend booking as early as possible to receive this special rate—please note that once the reserved room block is full, the room availability and rate are not guaranteed and may vary.

About Columbus

Columbus is the state capital and the largest city in Ohio. It has never declined in population, so in addition to being the 14th largest city in the country, it is also the fastest-growing city in the Midwest and the fourth-fastest-growing city in the U.S. In 2016, TIME Magazine ranked Columbus among “The 6 Best Big Cities,” declaring it the best in the Midwest, citing a highly educated workforce and excellent wage growth.

Climate
October in Columbus means fall, football and festivals. Typical temperatures are in the 60s. Attendees will want to pack a jacket to walk around the convention center area: it’s in the heart of the action with more than 100 shops, restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

Experient is the Official Housing Provider for AVS 66. The AVS has worked diligently with the hotels in Long Beach to establish room blocks for attendees and exhibitors. Improper solicitation of hotel reservations from any company or housing provider other than Experient is not approved by AVS. Reservations made by unaffiliated organizations may appear to be for lower rates; however they may be illegitimate, have unreasonable cancellation or change penalties, or be completely non-refundable. Please be aware of, and report any unauthorized solicitation to della@avs.org.
